MAYAN ZIP LINE - Chikin Ha -
An incredible
combination of Maya culture, breathtaking natural treasures,
and unforgettable adventure activities! Break away for
half a day and travel to Chikin-Ha, an exclusive, protected
natural sanctuary that is only a few minutes drive out
of Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Your journey on this Mayan Zip Line Expedition ®
begins with a bike ride through the farmlands of Don
Silvano where you will enjoy the surrounding jungle
scenery and learn about local Maya subsistence farming.
You will arrive at an extraordinary system of cenotes
where you will be swimming and
snorkeling in their crystalline waters.
Then you will set out on flight over the jungle's
foliage and cenotes on a series of the most thrilling
zip-lines of Mexico, last zip-line
is 160 meters above the forest canopy!.
Your journey will end in the mystic dry cenote of
the legendary Aluxes where you will witness a traditional
Mayan purification ceremony and learn of the religious
and cultural importance of the cenotes to the Mayan
people.

Expedition Schedule:
- 8:00 – 09:00 am. Pick up and departure for
Chikin-Ha
- 09:00 am. Arrival at Bike Station. From here we
enjoy a leisurely 1.6 km/1mile bike tour through the
jungle and farmland of Don Silvano.
- 09:40 am. Arrival at Rest Area. Briefing regarding
zip-lines and cenotes visits. Refreshment
- 09:55 am. Cenote Xta-Bay: swim and learn about the
fauna and flora particular to cenotes, ecosystem functioning
and the value of cenotes within local ecotourism.
- 10:25 am. Cenote Chikin-Ha: Snorkel, swim and learn
about the geological formation of cenotes, the scientific
study of cenotes and speleo-diving.
- 10:55 am. Cenote Aluxes: witness a Mayan purification
ritual and learn about the religious significance
of cenotes in ancient and current Mayan culture.
- 11:25 am. Zip Line. The first zip-line hangs over
the first cenote, 60 meters long, so you can fly over
this beautiful area enjoying from the air.
The second hangs in the jungle between the first and
second cenotes, again 60 meters long but this time
with a little more inclination and therefore a little
faster.
The third zip-line will leave you breathless! Leaving
the third cenote you can climb our 17-meter high tower
and launch yourself off of it to fly 160 meters above
the forest canopy!
- 12:00 pm. Lunch and drinks. Afterward return to
Bike Station.
- 1:00 pm. End of the expedition. Departure for Playa
del Carmen or Cancun.

This expedition is not suitable for people with severe
physical or motor handicap or serious heart problems,
nor for obese people or people who are not able to handle
physical activity. It is definitely not recommended
for pregnant women. Children under the age of 6 may
participate under the responsibility and direct supervision
of a responsible parent or family member. People under
the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted
to participate in this expedition.
