The Riviera Maya is one of the regions of Mexico - and the
world- which offers the richest variety of landscapes
and archaeological treasures. It is also a place where
the world's biological diversity seems to have been
concentrated, so that a visit to one of its many parks
- veritable habitats for many of the world's unique
species of plants and animals - is almost obligatory.
Outstanding among these is the Sian Ka'an reserve, an
extensive area that provides an enormous geographical
and climatic diversity, with an abundance of wild birds,
reptiles, mammals and marine wildlife.
You’ll never hear your kids complain
about being bored on this trip. The Mayan Riviera boasts
an impressive number of water and eco-parks perfect
for the entire family. The most famous water park in
the region is Xel-Ha which is located 35 miles south
of Playa del Carmen. Other parks include Tres Rios and
Aktun Chen.
A must-see for all visitors to the
Riviera Maya is the Mayan themed eco-park called Xcaret.
Plan to spend your entire day here since there are plenty
of water sports and cultural activities. It’s
been described by many as Mexico's Disneyland. The cultural
night show and dinner in the Disneyland. The cultural
night show and dinner in the courtyard is not to be
missed and the kids will love swimming with the dolphins.
